Tournaments
New 9 Game GrassRoots Traditional Cribbage Tournament Rules:
In this style, everybody plays 9 games against 9 different random opponents regardless of win or lose. The top 3 players after the 9 game round robin win the trophies.
After the tournament is seeded, everybody will have a scorecard where they can see their 9 opponents. The opponents MUST be played in order on the card.
You can click Tournaments / View ScoreCard to see your scorecard.
The scorecard will be AUTO-POPULATED by the program after every game. A win is 2 points, a skunk is 3 points.
There is also a graphical view of who is playing who. Click Tournaments / View Game Tables, this is another way to see the current matchups.
The players on the left side of the table just stay where they are the whole tournament. Only the ones on the right move up. If your next table is
currently occupied, you will have to wait until that game is complete before playing.
These tournaments are very important that a player doesn't quit before they play their 9 games. If they do they
will be docked 50 ratings points for quitting before finishing.
Standard eCribbage Tournament Format
Tournaments are now held daily at eCribbage.com
When you login to the site, click the tournaments button to see all upcoming tournaments!
Each tournament will have up to 48 spots available. For team tournaments, there are 2 players per team so that will be 96 players.
To sign up for a future tournament and reserve your spot, click Tournaments / Future Tournaments / the tournament you are interested in, and click Reserve Spot for Later.
This will put you at the top of the list. You still need to check in 30 mins before the tournament starts in order to verify your spot. To do this click Tournaments / Check in Now.
If you do not check in, you may lose your spot to players that are there and checking in.
Players attempting to sign up for the tournament at the last second may do so, but aren't
guaranteed to get a spot. The program will automatically seed the brackets 5 minutes before
the start of the tournament. The seeds are based on ratings of that type of tournament.
Each round will last approximately 45 mins and most tournaments are best of 3 series.
(First person to win 2 games wins the round) Skunks and double skunks in these tournaments are only worth 1 win.
It is a single elimination tournament, so once you've lost one round, you are out.
Other players are allowed to watch your games but their chat will be disabled so they can't distract you.
If there are technical problems in the game, it is up to the discretion of the tournament director on
how to proceed, a single game may be played over again in the case of a serious malfunction.
If you plan to make it far in the tournament please allow 3 hours available to play.
If you have to leave and miss your round, you will forfeit and be eliminated from the tournament.
